Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center & Museum

The Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center at 420 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy in Bethel is the community's cultural building, shared by UAF Kuskokwim Campus, AVCP and the City of Bethel. It houses the Kuskokwim Consortium Library (Mon-Fri 11-6, Sat 12-4), the SWAAG Gift Shop (Wed-Sat 11-4, Alaska Native art on consignment) and the Yup'ik museum run by AVCP with exhibits of Yup'ik, Cup'ik and Athabascan tools, clothing and art. The multi-purpose rooms host Cama-i, dance practices, meetings and classes; call UAF Kuskokwim Campus at 907-543-4500 or email [email protected] to ask about reserving a room. AVCP says museum galleries are open to the public with access on request - call the museum at 907-543-8541 or email [email protected] before making a trip.
