Ketchikan Agricultural Producers Association (KAPA) - food hub, ice plant, producer help

KAPA supports local food producers and fishermen. It is building the KAPA Food Hub at Saxman Seaport (ice for fishing vessels, seafood processing space, a rent-by-the-hour commercial kitchen for value-added producers, community cold storage) and, as Phase 0, a shared-use commercial ice facility with daily production for independent fishermen, charter operators and processors starting in 2026. KAPA also relays grants and trainings (AgWest new-producer grant, homemade-food-rule workshops, Alaska Sea Grant Business of Fishing workshop at UAS Maritime Center) and wants input on technical-assistance needs (DEC certifications, commercial kitchen ops, business help).
