City of Kotzebue Animal Control & Dog Licensing

Kotzebue Police Department's Community Service Officer handles animal control, including required dog licensing and rabies vaccinations. Every dog over six months old or over 20 lbs must have a one-time $5 lifetime license ($30 kennel license for 6+ dogs); licensing is done at the police department during business hours. Impounded dogs with ID tags are held one week, dogs without ID 24 hours; impoundment fees run $100-$200 depending on offense number. Call the non-emergency police line for animal control issues after hours or to license a dog.
