Alaska Temporary Assistance Program (ATAP) — cash assistance for families with children

ATAP is a jobs-focused cash-assistance program (funded through federal TANF) for low-income families with children. Families must have countable resources under $2,000 (under $3,000 if a household member is 60+) and income under the ATAP limit for their family size; participants must look for work or take part in employment-focused activities. Apply online through the Alaska Connect Portal; there is no in-person DPA office in Kotzebue, so call the Virtual Contact Center at 1-800-478-7778 for help applying or checking a case.
